When I went to Europe on a school trip in year ten, we discovered a frozen dead duck floating upside down in the fountain in the backyard of one of the Hapsburgs' palaces. It became a joke for the rest of the trip; your story just reminded me of it.
It also reminds of this dead bird that was stuck in the roof of the bus stop across the road from my work. It was there for weeks before it was removed, and all you could see were these two spindly legs sticking out of the roof's edging.
You've gotta love animal carcasses just lying around the place, yeah?
